The Battery is organized as a Civil War Confederate artillery unit and, as such, its primary purpose shall be to promote historical preservation and increased awareness of the Civil War period (1861-1865) by educating the general public through reenactment and living history activities.  The Battery also seeks to preserve the heritage of the original Striblings Battery and to honor the memory and sacrifices of all Civil War veterans North and South.  The Battery does a Federal impression as the First Conn Light Artillery.  All members of the Battery agree to promote an accurate impression of civil war artillery, both Confederate and Federal.  The Battery participates in ceremonies, memorial observances, parades, living history displays, battle reenactments, encampments and other civic historical functions.
